Removing Online Content

We believe one of the best ways to reduce academic misconduct through file-sharing and homework-helper sites is to remove infringing content. This removes the opportunity to cheat. Most legitimate sites have mechanisms to remove content which infringes on your copyright, through a DMCA takedown request. This is a useful mechanism for assignment or teaching content created by you.

Responding to infringing content on non-legitimate websites remains challenging. Generally, when students know you are monitoring assignments, the likelihood of using these tools is reduced. Consider discussing with your academic staff on appropriate responses.

If you have had success removing content, have suggestions, or information that can be added here. Please contact us through our contact page.
